    Sesame Street Creates “Carrie Underworm” Character For Carrie Underwood

    Nashville- (Feb 8, 2010) – Five-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood will appear on America’s longest running children’s television show, Sesame Street, as a specially created character known as “Carrie Underworm.” Underwood recorded the song, “The Worm Anthem,” specifically for the show.

    The episode in which “Carrie Underworm” performs is currently slated to air February 11, March 17, April 8, and April 26 on PBS.

    CARRIE LANDS SUPPORTING FILM ROLE IN SOUL SURFER

    NASHVILLE- (Feb. 4, 2010) – Five-time Grammy award winner Carrie Underwood has landed a supporting role in her first studio movie Soul Surfer. The inspirational film is based on the autobiography of 19-year-old champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who, for over six years, has defied all odds to compete and win professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at age thirteen. Underwood will play Sarah Hill, a church youth leader. Filming is to take place in February.

    The film also stars Academy Award winner Helen Hunt as Bethany’s mother Cheri, Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid as Bethany’s father Tom, and Young Artist Award winner AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton. The cast also includes Lorraine Nicholson (as Alana Blanchard) and Kevin Sorbo (as Holt Blanchard).

    Soul Surfer is produced by Mandalay Vision/Brookwell McNamara Entertainment/Life’s A Beach Entertainment. Soul Surfer is a Sean McNamara Film production distributed by Affirm Films, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company.

    Nashville, TN – After winning her fifth GRAMMY Award this past weekend, superstar Carrie Underwood is headed toward another amazing weekend as she performs the national anthem for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIV, but today she has a touchdown of her own, scoring today’s #1 video on iTunes with “Temporary Home.”

    iTunes debuted the powerful video yesterday with a two-day exclusive, February 2 and 3, and “Temporary Home” will hit the broadcast airwaves when it makes its television debut February 4 in Hot Shot rotation on CMT and in Turbo rotation on GAC.

    Fans can also be watching for Carrie on the cover of the March issue of Cosmopolitan, on stands early this month, with an Allure cover feature hitting stands for their April issue.

    Looking ahead, Underwood will make her first appearance at the prestigious Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, October 2, with a concert performance that will involve the renowned Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Tickets for the performance go on sale Sunday, February 14.

    “Temporary Home” Video Debuts TODAY!

This very special GRAMMY Moment will feature the never-before-seen 3-D mini-movie for "Earth Song" that was created by Jackson as the centerpiece of his much anticipated "This Is It" tour, but was never seen by the public prior to this GRAMMY performance.

    Nashville – December 10, 2009 – Carrie Underwood fans were excited today when they learned one of country music’s most prolific and versatile power vocalists has just announced performances across North America as her new headline 2010 tour launches next spring. The “Play On Tour,” hydrated by vitaminwater®, will kick off March 11, 2010 with special guests Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia. The first leg of 45 shows runs through May 30 with tickets for all shows going on sale starting next Friday, December 18.

    “I am getting so excited about next year as we are currently working through all the big plans for the tour,” says Underwood. “I cannot wait to perform new music and see familiar faces across the U.S. and Canada!” Underwood spent this past year writing and recording for her new album PLAY ON and performed a few select concerts. Her previous tour, 2008’s highly successful “Carnival Ride Tour” wrapped after 137 shows with 1.2 million fans in attendance.

    Underwood recently launched her third album, PLAY ON, at the #1 spot on both the country and pop album sales charts and has sold over 700,000 copies in 5 weeks. The release earned the highest first-week sales of the year for any solo country artist at that point and makes Carrie the only country act in Nielsen SoundScan history to achieve first-week sales of more than 300,000 units on each of their first three albums.     NASHVILLE- (Feb. 4, 2010) – Five-time Grammy award winner Carrie Underwood has landed a supporting role in her first studio movie Soul Surfer. The inspirational film is based on the autobiography of 19-year-old champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who, for over six years, has defied all odds to compete and win professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at age thirteen. Underwood will play Sarah Hill, a church youth leader. Filming is to take place in February.

    The film also stars Academy Award winner Helen Hunt as Bethany’s mother Cheri, Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid as Bethany’s father Tom, and Young Artist Award winner AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton. The cast also includes Lorraine Nicholson (as Alana Blanchard) and Kevin Sorbo (as Holt Blanchard).

For two years Magdalene provides housing, food, medical treatment, therapy, vocational training and education - all without taking government funding and without ever charging the women a penny. Thistle Farms is the non-profit business where Magdalene residents hand-make and retail natural bath and body products to the public.

    Thank you to all who brought donations for the Checotah Animal Shelter to the Fan Club Party this past Tuesday! Thanks to your contributions, the Fan Club was able to donate a truly astounding amount of greatly needed supplies to our furry friends at the shelter!

    If you feel like giving-back this spring, here’s your chance! This year at the Official Fan Club party we are going to have a donation box where you can donate items for the animal shelter in Carrie’s hometown, Checotah, OK. This time of year what’s needed most is topical flea treatment but below is a list of items you can donate:

    Tropical flea treatment
    Dog collars and leashes
    Food/water bowls
    Purina dog food
    Blankets
    Towels
    Grooming tools
    Dog shampoo
    Dog and cat toys
    Dog crates and kennel cabs
    Heating pads

    The donation box will be in the lobby of the Grand Ole Opry at the Official Fan Club party on Tuesday, June 9th. Here’s your chance to give back to Carrie and help out the local animal shelter in her hometown!!
