  So its been a crazy 2, almost 3 weeks.

  Sunday, July 19th my grandfather was rushed to Kennestone Hospital where they thought he was having a Heart Attack. Come to find out, it was a blood clot in his heart. That led them to find one in his kidneys and his bowel. Weird, because your first fear is the one in his heart, then kidney, then bowel. Truth be told, it was his bowel that was most severe! The clot had caused his bowel to begin to die, we just didnt know that yet! They admitted him and decided to give him medication (blood thinner) to try and dissolve the clots.

  Monday, July 20th the clots were not gone, and they found out the blood circulation had been cut completely off to the bowel. They brought him into surgery that morning to do a routine blood clot removal. Texting and phone calls constantly keeping in touch as I sat over 600 miles away scared to death! I receive a phone call just before one I received the call I didnt want to hear. "Amanda, you need to get home". I am not sure how much bowel a person has, I do know you need 3 ft of bowel to "sustain life". They removed most of Gramps' dead bowel, leaving him 4 ft with only 1.5 healthy and the rest 98%dead. With this news came "there is a 70% chance this man will not make it through the night". My best friend picked my heart up and put it together and took me straight home so we can get me a flight to GA.

  Tuesday July 21 Gramps made it through the night, so surgery is Wednesday to check and see if we can recover 3 foot of bowel. I was on stand by, so I got to the airport at 6am and of course couldnt make the 8am flight, but i did catch the 942 flight. I was so worried that I wouldnt make it to see him before he passed! I knew he was paralyzed and still in a "coma" state due to medication, but I just had to be there. I finally arrived to the hospital at noon, where his bedside I stood. Was this man my grandfather? He was so pumped full of fluids he looked so "plump". But yes... Yes it was, I know that face fat or not! I kissed him but I couldnt say anything but I love you! I just cried. He was in CVICU (Cardio Vascular Intensive Care Unit) so only 2 visitors at a time. So dad stood there holding me as we both sobbed uncontrollably. I stayed all night in that waiting room. Just waiting.

  Wednesday July 22 820am the family took turns, two by two going in to say our I love you's. Very soon we will find out if we would see him alive again, or if we will be seeing the funeral home people come by. We all sat in the waiting room waiting. We had a pager that they would update us with. 9:17 page: we are about to begin. 9:23 phone call: we are 5 minutes into the surgery, Dr Jordan will be out to speak with the family when they are complete, if it is longer than an hour and a half we will call back. 10:43 call: Dr Jordan will be out momentairly to speak with the family. Silence. Nothing but fear, tears, and prayer. In walks Dr Jordan, she knelt down on the floor as we all leaned in anticipating an answer. Will we see him alive? "Surgery went well! We were able to recover 6 ft of bowel somehow. He is still a VERY sick man, with a long road ahead." TEARS! We all cried so hard! It was happy tears, but also still fear. Its not promising, but we have hope!! Everyone ended up heading to where they needed to be, but dad, april (sister) and I went to visit other family members in the hospital, and then back to Gramps' room to see him. He was back in there, and the nurses were hooking everything up. I kissed him. Then we went to eat and nap.

  Thursday July 23rd I went to visit Gramps before I flew back home. I had to get back to work. He was still sedated and paralyzed to keep him from moving. They were suppose to begin waking him up today, but decided to let him sleep and heal until Monday.

  Here it is August 7th and he is still not able to wake up. Today they took the ventilator out and replaced it with a trach tube. His paralytic has been removed, and he wiggles around a lot and gets very irritated. Yet he is still not awake. Its like a nightmare he cannot wake up from. All I can do is pray for him, and I just ask that if anyone reads this, could you spare a prayer? He could use it.

• SERIOUSLY?! Again?

  I don’t understand some people. I don’t understand why people do what they do! I don’t get why people act the way they act. It gets old after awhile… When it happens so often that you become immune to it, and you just wait for it to happen again, its pathetic! Its time for people to grow up and STOP! Seriously!

  Well, its already April already. Where is the time going? Brody is doing well from his surgery! Poor guy got cut up pretty good. He has his stitches out and he is back to normal! My girls are still waiting to get fixed.I need the extra money! Getting two kittens fixed isnt cheap. Work is same ole same ole. I go in, I answer phones and emails from customers or employees with all kind of issues. Fun huh? Sometimes it is! Last week was a test for me though. My patience had been riding on the fence for some time. I had to start some medicines that make me not the happiest person. But for my health, I have to take them. I am on a trial and error test now. Gotta find the one that makes me somewhat normal! Not the devil! I will tell you, I was on one that made me absolutely unbearable! It was BAD! I literally was out of control! My dr quickly got me on something else! And I hope this one is MUCH better! I have a history of Ovarian Cyst, so I have to be on Birth Control to help regulate me and keep them from forming and getting TOO big like in the past. As some of you ladies know, these can definitely make you a bit off!!

  So, on a happy note! I have just over a month before I get to go on a get-a-way with my best friend to see a HILARIOUS comedian. Jeff Dunham! He is absolutely hilarious! We are going to go down that saturday and stay the night then head back Sunday. Its going to be a nice get-a-way! The following weekend will be my birthday! Then we have Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat we are going to see on the 31st in Pittsburgh! After that we have Nashville! THEN we have Les Miserables and Into the Woods to go see in Pittsburgh too! We have an AWESOME line up and I cant wait! Its nice to be able to hang out with your best friend and do some fun stuff!!

  A do believe a CONGRATS is in order for a Miss Underwood! How AMAZING to be voted ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR! And WE were a part of that! ladies and gentlemen! WE just made history! haha...

  I guess I should work? Who wants to? Its snowin outside (IN APRIL?!?!) and I want to be home! Haha...
