How about a little snack in Beijing.
Saw these very tempting food items while walking through a market in downtown Beijing, China.
Yes, these are live scorpions and sea horses on a stick. Scorpion kabob anyone? Yummm...
Needless to say, I was NOT hungry. Darn-if only I hadn't eaten that big lunch!!
For anyone interested in the Olympics, here is a photo of the "Birds Nest", which is the stadium where the opening and closing ceremonies will be held. It is one of the most amazing structures I've ever seen!

I have just returned from my travels overseas, and have many a story to share. However, as these blogs are all but hidden, I'll save my typing fingers.
I would like to post a picture of my new favorite animal, however. My friend found this dude in central India. The poor goose was born with his beak all out of sorts. As a tribute to the great spirit of humanity in a country as poor as India, where so many live on just pennies a day, the people living nearby this goose have adopted it and cared for it since birth. So darn cute...

Morning edit: It's night for you, but morning for me. I just had 12 hours sleep, which is what I had in the first week in India-TOTAL. And my stomach feels great. Woo hoo!
Previous message: ...how many people think Heather will throw up by night's end? I finally got out of India and landed in Singapore one hour ago. Since then, I have eaten 2 McDonald's cheesburgers, a 6 piece McNuggets and had 3 sodas LOADED with ice. GOD...I missed ice...and meat...and anything that is not cooked with curry.
I am about to take a bath in the non-yellow water, brush my teeth in tap water and send my entire suitcase to laundry.
On a humorous note, my friend and I took a flight from India to Singapore on one of the Indian airlines (Jet Airways). The plane landed, we cleared immigration and were waiting for our suitcases. Next to us was a young Indian boy who clearly had to go to the bathroom. As he is from India, he did what any normal boy would do-he went. All over the floor. Problem was-he was no longer in India. Singapore is the land of rules-jaywalking and gum chewing are punishable by caning. Peeing on the floor in the airport? Nearly unheard of. Having been in India so long, it didn't phase us or any of the other passengers on our flight. The airport authorities in Singapore, however, were none too pleased. I had a good laugh at this scene.
All for now. Off to catch up on some much needed sleep!
