Multi-Platinum, 8-time GRAMMY® Award winner Carrie Underwood will star in the show open for NBC’s Sunday Night Football for the 12th consecutive season beginning September 8 on NBC and Peacock.

The new open for primetime’s No. 1 show celebrates the SNF “road show” that visits NFL cities each weekend, embracing the pageantry and anticipation for each matchup. Underwood performed the open from The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, home of her ongoing residency, REFLECTION.

“Carrie once again delivers a show-stopping performance in combination with backstage and behind the scenes energy to set the tone for this special night,” said Tripp Dixon, creative director of the SNF show open for each of the past 12 years.

“It was so much fun to welcome the Sunday Night Football team back to the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas,” said Underwood. “Shooting the new show open is always something I look forward to, and Tripp and the whole creative team brought it yet again, and we had a great day putting on an exciting new performance. Like everybody else, I’m waiting all day for Sunday night!”

The show open for Sunday Night Football, primetime television’s No. 1 program for an unprecedented 13 consecutive years, will debut on Sunday, Sept. 8 on NBC and Peacock leading into Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams visiting Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in an NFC Wild Card Playoff rematch on the season debut of SNF.

NBC’S SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL IS PRIMETIME TELEVISION’S NO. 1 SHOW FOR RECORD 13 CONSECUTIVE YEARS: NBC’s Sunday Night Football finished the 2023-24 TV season as primetime’s #1 TV show in all key metrics for an unprecedented 13th consecutive year – adding to its record for the most consecutive years atop the charts (since 1950), based on official live plus same day data provided by Nielsen. Sunday Night Football also ranked as the No. 1 primetime show in every major demographic. For more information, click here.

Carrie Underwood Premieres Brand New Music Video For “Hate My Heart”

Amidst the first leg of her 43-City THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR, Carrie releases the official music video for her new single “Hate My Heart,” which was #1 most added at Country Radio this week. Following a Facebook premiere on Wednesday, November 2, the new video is now available on all platforms (Watch Here).

Directed by Shaun Silva, who recently directed Carrie and Jason Aldean’s music video for their multi-week #1 smash hit duet, “If I Didn’t Love You,” and filmed on location at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon, “Hate My Heart” follows Carrie and a group of her girlfriends who are all approaching break-ups in different ways.  Whether drowning themselves in rom-coms, diving into dating apps, taking a deep dive into online shopping, taking out their frustration and aggressions in the gym, or getting revenge, Carrie and her girl posse are united in a mission to move past their heartbreak to indulge in a wild and crazy girls’ night out.  In the video, Carrie rides a mechanical bull and crowd surfs as she and her friends see their own alter-egos in the all-female band onstage.

Carrie co-wrote “Hate My Heart” with frequent collaborators Hillary Lindsey and David Garcia, as well as hit artist/songwriter Hardy. It is the latest single from Carrie’s current album Denim & Rhinestones, which was released in June and is the latest collaboration with Garcia, with whom she also co-produced her critically-acclaimed 2018 release, Cry Pretty and her 2021 GRAMMY® Award-winning album of gospel hymns, My SaviorListen to “Hate My Heart” now.

Carrie kicked off her new arena tour, THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR, on October 15 with a sold-out show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC.  With dates in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, promoted by AEG Presents, the tour will continue to make stops in 43 U.S. cities including New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena before concluding in Seattle, WA on March 17. Carrie is joined on THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR by special guest Jimmie Allen on all dates.

Carrie is nominated for three awards at the upcoming CMA Awards on November 9, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year for the multi-week #1 smash hit, “If I Didn’t Love You” with Jason Aldean, where she will also be performing new single “Hate My Heart.”

Carrie kicked off her new arena tour, THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR, Saturday night (October 15) with a sold-out show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC.

With dates in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, promoted by AEG Presents, the tour will make stops in 43 U.S. cities including New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena before concluding in Seattle, WA on March 17. Carrie is joined on THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR by special guest Jimmie Allen on all dates.

In addition to many of the popular hits spanning her stellar 17-year career, Carrie’s nearly two-hour set featured songs from her new album, Denim & Rhinestones, which she co-produced with David Garcia, including lead single “Ghost Story” – where she traveled from the arena’s main stage on a florally adorned swing reminiscent of the one featured in the song’s cinematic music video – and “Hate My Heart,” which Carrie recently announced as her next single.

She also performed other fan favorites including “She Don’t Know” and “Crazy Angels,”the latter of which again brought Carrie high above the crowds, delivering gravity-defying vocals while performing aerial acrobatics within a suspended sphere-shaped apparatus. The packed arena went wild when Carrie brought Allen onstage to join her for a duet – and a bit of dancing – on the album’s title track, “Denim & Rhinestones.”

Other highlights of the show showcased Carrie’s renowned vocal range, creativity, dazzling wardrobe, and pure showmanship, as she seamlessly transitioned between cinematic storytelling, resolutely faithful performances, and high-powered rockstar delivery she is known for. Carrie was, quite literally, brought to new heights with impressive lifts and aerial stunts throughout the night, in addition to pyrotechnics that punctuated songs with flare and new live spins on her classic hits.

Her cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” electrified the crowd, just months after she welcomed Axl Rose as a surprise guest during her headlining set at Stagecoach in May, followed by her surprise performance during the band’s UK shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in July.

Carrie was joined onstage by her 8-piece band. THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR is directed by Barry Lather and Nick Whitehouse/Fireplay is the Production Designer.
