I’m still on a high from the Hollywood Bowl to be able to write about it!
In one word…”UNFORGETTABLE.”
CARRIE UNDERWOOD SELLS OUT HOLLYWOOD BOWL
Underwood and her band performed alongside the renowned Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Among the show highlights was Underwood’s vocal delivery on the hymn “How Great Thou Art,” which brought the entire enthusiastic crowd to its feet delivering the loudest and longest standing ovation of her career. The fans were roaring again when country great Randy Travis made a surprise appearance as he joined Underwood for their hit duet “I Told You So,” and when rock guitarist Orianthi played on the #1 smash “Last Name.” The concert concluded with an encore of fireworks choreographed to Underwood’s monster hit “Before He Cheats” and lively show-closer “Songs Like This.”
Special guests on the bill were Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia. Underwood’s “Play On Tour,” hydrated by vitamin water® and sponsored by Olay, continues this week with shows in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, Texas. The tour will play over 100 cities in 2010 before wrapping December 19 in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
CMT REVEALS ITS FIRST-EVER “ARTISTS OF THE YEAR”
CMT ARTISTS OF THE YEAR acts were chosen by ranking the top five artists based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums, and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on CMT.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively.
Over the past 12 months, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band have collectively received over 2.5 million plays of their current songs; sold over 8.5 million copies of their current albums; sold over 21 million individual downloads of their current singles; and topped both the touring and CMT.com charts, proving themselves to be the top country artists for 2010.

CARRIE’S “PLAY ON TOUR” RE-LAUNCHES WITH FALL LEG SEPTEMBER 25
Underwood will donate 36 cents of every ticket sold to Save the Children’s United States Programs. This initiative was inspired by the “36 cents” written in the lyrics of her album track “Change,” which addresses how even the smallest bit of spare change that one might have can add up to make a difference and help “change” the world.
The three-month spring leg of the “Play On Tour” was performed in front of nearly 400,000 fans and nearly sold out all 54 shows throughout North America, bringing along special guests Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia.
Underwood is a five-time Grammy Award winner, a member of the Grand Ole Opry, two-time reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, and three-time CMA and ACM Female Vocalist winner. Carrie Underwood has amassed more than 12 million in album sales since her debut CD in 2005 and has placed 13 #1 singles on the charts.
