Carrie Underwood Announces New Single and New Album!

Smoke Break

Produced by Jay Joyce, “Smoke Break” was written by Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and Chris DeStefano, with whom Underwood wrote her most recent #1 smash, “Little Toy Guns.”

About the new single, Underwood says that the title isn’t necessarily meant to be literal, as she shares, “It’s basically an anthem for every hard-working person. We all wear many hats and are spread thin, so we can all relate to being tired and needing a break. This song is about having that moment to be able to escape from whatever it is that’s stressing you out and have some time for yourself.”

The digital single for “Smoke Break” will be available beginning 11 PM CT tonight, August 20 (midnight ET).

A clip of “Smoke Break” is streaming online now on www.carrieunderwoodofficial.com.

Separately, Underwood was the night’s big country winner at Sunday’s teen-voted TEEN CHOICE 2015 honors, where she won Choice Country Artist, as well as Choice Country Song, for her recent #1 smash, “Little Toy Guns.”

In September, Underwood will return for a third season as the musical voice of primetime television’s #1 program, Sunday Night Football. On Friday, a 2½-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of this year’s show open debuted in National CineMedia’s FirstLook pre-show program in AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Entertainment Group, spanning more than 19,000 movie screens. Featuring Underwood and various NFL stars, the spot features her performance of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” the opening theme for Sunday Night Football.

In addition to her Thursday Facebook announcement, Underwood has already been the focus of other recent news, earning her 21st #1 single with “Little Toy Guns,” from her album Greatest Hits: Decade #1 – the year’s best-selling hits album in any genre. Earlier this month, Underwood’s 4.5 million in new Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Gold & Platinum certifications made her the current top country artist on the RIAA’s Digital Single Ranking (with certifications of 28 million across 20 songs). Underwood was also recently announced to return with Brad Paisley for their eighth consecutive year as hosts of the CMA Awards when The 49th Annual CMA Awards airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 4, on ABC.

Congrats Carrie on winning 2 Teen Choice Awards!

Carrie Underwood Mines Precious Metal to Become the Current Top Country Artist on RIAA’s Digital Single Ranking

The 28 million tally also places Underwood among the Top 5 females in the history of the RIAA’s Digital Single Program, in the company of such worldwide superstars as Rihanna and Katy Perry.

Among Underwood’s newest certifications is a Gold Digital Single for her most recent #1 smash, “Little Toy Guns,” as well as her highest RIAA Digital Single honor to date: a 5x-Platinum certification for her chart-topping blockbuster, “Before He Cheats.” With that accomplishment, Underwood becomes one of only five country artists in RIAA history to achieve that threshold with a digital single.

With the Gold status of “Little Toy Guns,” both new singles from Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1 have now been RIAA certified following the Platinum certification earlier this year of her chart-topping GRAMMY® Award winner, “Something in the Water.”

Featuring 20 #1 hits, as well as four favorites in never-before-released versions, Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1 is available for sale here: http://smarturl.it/cughdecade1.

Underwood is currently working on music for her upcoming fifth studio album.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood to Perform at Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s Fundraiser All for the Hall New York October 6

afth-sm

A limited number of VIP tables and individual seats are on sale now and available for purchase at $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 levels. Event proceeds will support the Museum’s education programs, which reached over 160,000 people in 2014. Details to reserve a table or individual seat are available below.

Attendees of the event have a rare opportunity to witness award-winning, critically acclaimed artists partake in something similar to a southern tradition known as the guitar pull, where a small group of musicians gather together and take turns presenting their songs while the other artists look on or add harmony and instrumentation. Originated in Nashville, some of the most legendary guitar pull sessions were hosted by none other than Johnny and June Carter Cash. All for the Hall New York participants will decide what to sing in the spur of the moment, with no set list, as they casually swap songs and stories during this one-of-a kind event.

Each year, Gill and Harris return to perform at the All for the Hall benefit concert. This year, they will be in the company of Paisley, the singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three Grammys, two American Music Awards, and 14 Country Music Association Awards (including Entertainer of the Year), among many others. Underwood, a multi-format, multi-media superstar with spanning achievements in music, television, and film, has won seven Grammy awards and is the first female artist to be named twice as the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year, will take the stage as well. Past participants include Jason Aldean, Gregg Allman, Zac Brown, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Patty Griffin, Levon Helm, Chris Isaak, Kris Kristofferson, Pat Monahan, Lionel Richie, Taylor Swift, Dwight Yoakam and more.

The museum’s All for the Hall campaign launched in 2005 and addresses the museum’s need for long-term financial security. Currently in its eighth year on the road, the annual fundraising event helps to provide a safety net for the institution and its work. This year’s proceeds will be dedicated to the support of the museum’s educational programs, which teach audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.

VIP tables and tickets are available now, and patrons have the option of purchasing a full table of 10 for $10,000, a half table for $5,000, or an individual floor level seat for $1,000. A full list of VIP ticket levels and benefits can be found at www.countrymusichalloffame.org/afthny.To purchase tickets or for more information, patrons may contact Rachel Shapiro at 615-416-2069 or rshapiro@countrymusichalloffame.org.

All for the Hall New York is produced by CAA’s Rod Essig, Vector Management’s Ken Levitan and BMI’s Jody Williams. The event is made possible by the generosity of AEG Live and the Best Buy Theater. All table and ticket purchases are a tax deductible charitable contribution to support the preservation of country music’s heritage.
